exfat-utils software package provides utilities to create, check, label and dump exFAT filesystem, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install exfat-utils
exfat-utils is installed in your system.
Make ensure the exfat-utils package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep exfat-utils *
You will get with exfat-utils package name, version, architecture and description in a table
